The map above shows the stunning growth in the number of cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in each US county up to April 2nd, 2020. At the start of Feb there were only a handful of cases across the entire United States. But this has now ballooned to 244,887 cases as of April 2nd.

Nice job that makes an important point, the US epidemic is really a set of individual outbreaks that grow,beginning with large cities (LA, for example and, interestingly, Seattle) but then expand from there. It would have been nice if there was a slider included permitting one to slow down the progression.

Another misuse of the choropleth map (“patch map” to whoever did this) . Large, low population density counties give you a red slap in the face, while large population density, (small area) shrink to invisibility.
