About Motive

Motive (formerly KeepTruckin) built its business on ELD compliance for trucking and has grown into a full fleet platform covering GPS tracking, AI dash cams, fuel management, driver safety scoring and its own fleet fuel card. It is particularly strong with owner operators and small to mid-size trucking fleets, and is one of the few major providers offering shorter contract terms, with 12-month minimums common.

About Azuga

Azuga is a fleet tracking and safety platform aimed at small and mid-size service fleets, known for publishing its prices, plug-and-play hardware that customers install themselves, driver rewards and gamified safety scoring, and a SafetyCam dash camera option. Contracts typically run 36 months.

Motive and Azuga pricing

Motive does not publish fixed prices, but third-party estimates and buyer reports in 2026 consistently place it around $20 to $45 per vehicle per month depending on the plan, with hardware often discounted or bundled on longer terms. Azuga is one of the few majors with published pricing: plans run roughly $25 to $35 per vehicle per month in 2026, with hardware generally included in the plan price rather than billed separately, which is why the hardware default below is set to zero. The calculator multiplies each side's per-vehicle subscription by your fleet size and contract length, adds upfront hardware, and compares contract totals, which is the only fair way to compare offers with different hardware and term structures.

How they compare

Both companies sell full fleet telematics, so the comparison above is like-for-like: the same vehicles, the same contract length, and each side's typical per-vehicle subscription and hardware. Motive comes from trucking compliance, Azuga from small service fleets. Motive is the stronger fit where ELD, IFTA and fuel management matter; Azuga counters with published pricing, self-install hardware and driver rewards that suit vans and light vehicles better than heavy trucks.
